The CISCAI e-Fixed Asset Management System  (C-FAMS)   rolls into full use and operation  this November 2009. The C-FAMS  is a suite of  financial and asset  management modules  specifically designed and  aimed at better managing and  keeping track of the CISCAI Projects fixed  assets  and  resources.  The C-FAMS  is  highly applicable and useful for the Project since  the bulk of the  Projects  activities entail capacity building through the  acquisition of state-of the-art   Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in the two pilot countries Vietnam and  Laos Peoples Democratic Republic (PDR).

Two of the  salient features of the  C-FAMS  is the integration and retrofitting of   the Quick Response (QR) Code  in  the inventory module and the Global Positioning System (GPS) “ based module. The QR Code module  provides automated asset numbering and recording as well as  (barcode) scanning, while the GPS-based module gives positional information (i.e. detailed latitude and longitude coordinates for assets deployed in the field) on the assets.  These two particular modules  on the C-FAMS  make post project asset management,  inventory and auditing  processes  simple and trouble-free.
